Late Night Dancing in the Streets

Get ready for The Beat Market Street — the late‑night block‑party series that shuts the street down in the best way. Happening every Second Saturday all summer long, each event brings a new mash‑up of live bands and DJs, mixing genres, flipping classics, and keeping the crowd moving. Our emcee keeps the energy high with interactive games, contests, prizes, and moments that pull everyone into the fun. Grab something good to eat, jump into a line dance, meet new people, and celebrate the culture and creativity that make our community shine. This is the summer Saturday vibe you don’t want to miss.

We have a brand new series that expands the party all summer long. It’s called, For The Culture and it’s bringing Black-centered experiences all across Downtown Champaign all summer long. From Paint and Sips all the way to Black Mental Health Awareness Dinners and Awards nights. There’s something for everybody this year.

What to Expect at The Beat on Market Street

  • 21 years and older.

  • You must present a valid government-issued ID.

  • All patrons will go through security (no exceptions).

  • Only clear bags are allowed.

  • Security Checkpoints open at 7:00 PM.

  • Last entry at 11:30 PM.

  • No in-and-out passes without going through security.

  • Food and drinks are available within the festival area.  No outside food or drink is allowed.

  • Let the performers entertain without interference.

  • Refrain from using discriminatory, threatening, or harassing language.

  • Refrain from any acts of violence, fighting, or instigating conflict.

  • Shirts, pants, and shoes required (Yes! Shorts are allowed!)

  • Refrain from throwing objects or unruly behavior that may harm others.

  • Respect festival staff and comply with requests regarding safety and security.

  • Solicitation with authorization only.

  • Refrain from any acts of sexual harassment, including stalking, unwanted

  • Verbal comments, non-consensual photography or recording, and unwelcome physical attention are strictly prohibited.
